With Folkboat Week about to burst into action at Yarmouth’s Royal Solent Yacht Club (RSYC) over the weekend, Yarmouth Harbour is busy with boats preparing for the regatta.
Organised annually by the RSYC, Folkboat Week 2017 (19-26 August) has attracted 36 competing boats and with the first race scheduled for Sunday morning, pre-race preparation is intense throughout the highly-competitive fleet.
On Friday morning, the team from Whittle Marine were in the thick of the action at the Yarmouth Harbour Commissioners crane, hauling-out three local Folkboats – Ajax, Bossa Nova and Eala – for a final hull clean prior to racing; a task that will ensure the boats are free of weed and any growth that may slow them down during racing.
Good luck to all Folkboat crews competing in the regatta from the team at Whittle Marine!
